Beautiful day

I can’t get over what a gorgeous day it is today in our little corner of western Ireland.  It began with a special delivery from a dear friend in Colorado who took pity on me and was kind enough to send me a care package of my favorite American bread spread.  The sky, while partly cloudy, is allowing teasing glimpses of the warming sun.  The sky over the bay is clear enough to see all the way to the Claddagh and Twain Island, even County Clare.  Children and dogs are playing on the sand and in the tide pools.  The Prom is not crowded but has its share of happy, smiling people strolling along it – as a matter of fact, everyone is pretty friendly today.  PJ, the groundskeeper, is cruising the estate on his riding lawn mower and grinning like the cat that ate the canary.  The daffodils and tulips and morning glory and heather and rosemary are all blooming – a few freshly picked, beautiful, fragrant daffodil blooms grace my mantelpiece at this moment.  I got to have lunch with the best husband ever, and I even timed it right and caught every bus without having to wait every single time!

“See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out”
