Galway is old

Hoping to convince Claude to write something relevant here about the history of Galway and our visit today to the Galway City Museum, because all I have to say is WOW.  What a cool museum!  It’s large and clean and quiet, has lots of exhibition space and some very interesting artefacts.  The views of the city and river from the building are gorgeous and terribly impressive.  But most impressive is the fact that Galway has been here since the 11th century – and a lot of the old structures still exist.  Best of all the admission is free!

But I’m going to let Claude talk more about history and treat you to some awesome maps.
